wearethe99percent: I have nearly died multiple times because of health insurance problems. I lost the sight in my left eye and am in danger of going fully blind. I wore my body down trying to work enough to afford medication, but could never do it. I am in severe amounts of neurological and rheumatoid pain. This system has nearly destroyed me at age 31. First 99% I’ve posted. This one hit closer to home than any of the other ones I read. Also, is it sad that I can recognize some of her meds?

Shit.”] If the doctor says it’s a lot, you know something’s wrong=/ OMG, this is my life. Was in the hospital this week, and almost EVERY dr said some version of this. The worst? A pastor came to my room (I didn’t ask to see anyone and was listed as no religion) and was all “You’re so young and look so healthy! You’ll be out soon”. Um, lady, I’m on a stroke floor (granted, when they have space they take other patients). But um, not the thing to say.

Called to make appointment, talked to nurse. She said “You need to be seen in 3 days. We can get you in October” Even she realized how absurd it is. Right now, they’re figuring out what’s wrong with me (um, my left arm is NUMB and WEAK) and let’s not talk about when I’m getting my “emergency” MRI (i was released from hospital b/c they said no need to keep me if MRI is next day, hahaha)
